The Abbey itself was built in the late 12th century and it is commonly believe that Friar John Cor, who is responsible for the first recorded production of whisky in 1494, lived there.
Lindores is therefore seen by many as the spiritual home of whisky.
Part of the warehouse is heated to increase maturation.
